About Julie

Julie Martin is the Executive Director and primary therapist for Kairos Coaching & Counseling. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of North Carolina and specializes in individual and couples therapy. Her counseling experience includes case management for the AIDS Outreach Center in Ft. Worth, TX, pregnancy counseling for Bethany Christian Services in Cheyenne, WY, individual/marital therapy with Agape Christian Counseling in Charlotte, NC, and acute-care for Carolinas Healthcare System's Behavioral Health Call Center as well as their adult inpatient psychiatric units in Charlotte. In addition, she served as the Director of Community Care for a large church in Charlotte, providing crisis counseling, and individual/group therapy centered on the issues of addiction, grief/loss, self-esteem and family of origin issues.

Julie is currently serving a broad spectrum of clients. Among her areas of expertise are mood disorders (anxiety, depression), chemical and behavioral addictions, trauma, and spiritual issues. In addition, she is currently completing training to become 1 of only 2,000 counselors nationwide to hold the distinction of Certified Sex Addiction Therapist which makes her uniquely qualified to treat Sex, Pornography and Love Addiction. Julie is trained in the use of EMDR - Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing - to treat trauma, phobias, grief, depression, and anxiety. Her approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. She integrates complementary methodologies, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychodrama, EMDR, and group therapy experiences to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, Julie works with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.
